Independent media agency Medialab has appointed a new executive director to lead its digital offering, with a brief to ensure the business offers industry-leading digital activation that drives outstanding results for its clients.
Jim Brigden will work closely with the Medialab’s leadership team on their growth journey and lead the build and acceleration of the agency’s suite of digital services.
In 2023, Medialab’s digital activity grew by over 50%, while the agency is certified as a Google Premium Partner, underlining its desire to leverage the latest digital opportunities for its clients.
Brigden has over 25 years’ experience in the digital marketing industry, with a strong track-record of accelerating growth, winning new business and developing propositions for agencies.
He has led several businesses through fast growth, including Brainlabs as executive chair. Previous senior roles included a global leadership position at iProspect, CEO roles at I Spy and The Search Works and, most recently, a non-executive board position at Percept.
Brigden said: “The age of specialist digital agencies is coming to an end, with digital making up a significant proportion of media investment and clients expecting holistic media activations. Medialab is already delivering integrated online and offline plans to an exceptional level, so the opportunity to help them grow its digital offering even further and enhance client outcomes was one I simply couldn’t turn down.”
Medialab CEO Marcus Orme added: “We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Jim to our team. His experience and impact in the digital landscape speaks for itself, and I can’t wait to see the transformation he will help us go on.
“Medialab has seen significant growth over the last few years, driven by our commitment to client success, and this appointment is another substantial milestone on that journey – welcome to the team Jim, it’s an honour to have you on board.”
This hire builds on Medialab’s growth in team and capabilities, accelerated by organic and new business wins which include Hovis, Phoenix Group and Save the Children.
