Independent media agency Medialab has made a raft of senior hires to bolster its data and marketing effectiveness team, further enhancing the agency’s offering.
The team has more than doubled in size in the last 12 months and accounts for 27% of Medialab’s total headcount, a move which it insists demonstrates the agency’s commitment to data-driven success as brands continue to focus on data-driven services.
First up is Tony Oakley, who is joining as senior analytics director from Adverity. He brings vast expertise and knowledge in adtech, digital, and client analytics and will be decisive in leading client onboarding to Medialab’s marketing intelligence platform, Apollo.
Next is Declan Sharpe, who takes on the role of principal effectiveness consultant. He was previously at Google where he played a pivotal role in advancing its internal capabilities in the econometric modelling space.
In his new role, Sharpe will support the advancement of Medialab’s econometric modelling capabilities and enhance the delivery and analyses of brand and performance campaigns.
Finally, Anna La Placa joins as director of effectiveness, with over 15 years of experience in data analytics and modelling consultancy. She will oversee critical workstreams across all the agency’s client teams, support with the most complex briefs and be tasked with consolidating impactful insights and recommendations to clients.
These new hires come off the back of a period of exponential growth for Medialab, with the independent agency winning new accounts including Save The Children, Standard Life and Hovis.

The appointments come off the back of the recent hires of Harry Darlington from OMD UK as strategy director, Jess Talbot from Initiative as its head of planning, and Jon Manning as director of Advanced TV.
