Imagination, the brand experience agency, has recruited a new executive creative director for the UK and Europe as part of a major expansion of its creative team to support its growing client portfolio.
Steve Lidbury was previously European creative director of Imagination’s luxury automotive group from 2010 to 2015, where he led the creative team across the Jaguar Land Rover, Rolls-Royce Motors Cars, Aston Martin and Mazda businesses. He takes up the role with immediate effect.
For the past seven years, Lidbury has been executive principal at Eight Inc London, where he delivered brand experiences and strategic brand consulting across a diverse range of clients, including Apple, Nokia, Nike, Virgin Atlantic Airways and Barclays.
In his new role, Lidbury will continue to evolve Imagination’s creative offering across consulting, destinations, content and live while spearheading new business development with the senior management team.
This company says the appointment will drive its goal to strengthen its “world-class creative and strategic capabilities, push creative innovation forwards and continue to deliver outstanding creative platforms and brand experiences for clients”.
Lidbury will work directly with UK managing director Richard Hannah, EMEA executive creative director Jiri Bures and chief creative officer Julian Baker.
Hannah said: “We are thrilled to see Steve rejoin Imagination at such an exciting time for us – he brings huge talent, insight and creative vision that will bolster our phenomenal creative community.”
Lidbury added: “Imagination has always been at the forefront of creativity and innovation, delivering compelling and meaningful brand experiences that inspire audiences, change the status quo and transform lives.
“I’m thrilled to be back and working with the team to drive and further broaden the offer, working across such a diverse mix of client projects and sectors.”
