Jaywing has made a double appointment as part of plans to strengthen its senior client service and creative teams on the back of a number of new business wins, including supermarket giant Asda.
Helen Curtis, who is joining as director of client services, has held multiple senior agency and client-side roles, including head of brand at Pure Collection, and head of marketing at Freemans Grattan Holdings.
She brings a wealth of experience and understanding of the challenges facing CMOs in today’s complex marketing environment. Curtis will lead a client services team of 22 with a diverse range of responsibilities across Jaywing’s offices in Sheffield, Leeds and Australia.
Curtis said: “Jaywing has outstanding creative talent and a proven track record in bringing together data, insights and industry-leading attribution capabilities. Many marketers aren’t lucky enough to have access to such a diverse range of skills, and so I’m looking forward to being part of a team that delivers a genuinely holistic views for brands.”
Meanwhile, Pete Camponi has been appointed creative director of copy. He has over 25 years of board-level experience, building and managing creative agency teams.
During his career he has served as creative director at Gratterpalm (now Creative Race) and was founder and creative partner at Us&Them ideas, offering senior strategic thinking to the likes of Asda, Arla, B&Q, George Clothing, Morrison’s, Victoria Plumb and Greggs. He will be focusing on Jaywing’s growing film and content output.
Camponi commented: “The combination of cutting-edge data use and proven creative skills is what really attracted me to Jaywing. I can’t wait to see what remarkable work we achieve.”
Maria Vardy (pictured), who has been managing director of Jaywing since joining from Iris in 2012, added: “Helen and Pete both bring a wealth of experience working for the UK’s biggest brands and their expertise and enthusiasm is already helping us to deliver outstanding work for our clients.”
