LadBible Group, the online publisher whose brands include LadBible, UniLad, GamingBible, SportBible and Tyla, among many others, has raided Vice Media Group to appoint its new director of marketing.
Mike Walsh, who was previously vice-president of integrated marketing, Europe at Vice, succeeds Lindsay Turner, who has left the company after four years to return agency-side. She joined from Spark Foundry, where she had been CEO.
At Vice, Walsh spearheaded the creative output of all group brand partnerships across the EMEA region and worked with leading brands from all sectors – including Adidas, New Balance, Heineken, O2, Nike, and Google – to create original, story led creative campaigns. Prior to that, he worked at Haymarket Media Group for nearly 12 years. latterly as brand director of the tech anf football divisions.
In his new role, Walsh will lead the development and execution of both the B2C and B2B marketing strategies to support LAdBible Group’s global expansion and vision to become a global entertainment business for young adults.
The company’s websites claim to generate at least 28 billion content views globally every year.
Walsh is to oversee the group’s commercial, brand, communications, and design functions, including driving brand growth and delivering industry-leading commercial solutions for partners.
He will also lead campaigns to position the brand portfolio at the centre of popular culture and entertainment, while also driving social responsibility initiatives and lead an integrated marketing team.
Walsh will report into chief operating officer Ben Elshaw, who said: “Mike will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the group by driving brand growth, engagement, and revenue. With his wealth of experience in delivering marketing strategies across global markets, his vision and expertise will be key to our next phase of growth.”
