Nomad Foods appoints new CMO to drive Euro growth

Nomad Foods, the company behind Birds Eye, Findus, and Iglo, has appointed a new chief marketing officer, as part of plans to strengthen the frozen food giant’s executive team and reinforce its focus on sustainable growth across its European brands and markets.

Justin Billingsley joins Nomad Foods with immediate effect to lead a strengthened and more unified marketing function, spanning brand and portfolio strategy, communications, research and development and innovation.

Reporting directly to chief executive Dominic Brisby, Billingsley’s focus will be on driving stronger commercial outcomes and long-term brand equity across Nomad Foods’ portfolio.

The company says he brings significant global marketing leadership experience, with a proven track record of building brands, accelerating innovation and leading high-performing teams within complex, consumer-driven organisations.

Billingsley started his career at Unilever in Australia, before switching to Coca-Cola where he spent nearly a decade in various marketing roles, eventually becoming global brand director.

He then switched to mobile phone marketing, working in senior roles at both Nokia and Orange UK and in 2014 moved agency side to Saatchi & Saatchi, were he was ultimately worldwide chief operating officer.

By 2018, Billingsley had joined Publicis Emil, first as CEO and then chairman of the division which had been set up to handle the Mercedes-Benz account. In 2020 he was appointed CMO of Publicis Groupe in London before setting up his own consultancy last year.

Nomad Foods’ chief executive Dominic Brisby commented: “Justin’s deep marketing expertise and brand leadership capabilities will be instrumental as we continue to build a more powerful, unified set of brands across Europe. His experience will be critical in accelerating our growth agenda and strengthening our connection with consumers across all markets. I am absolutely delighted to welcome him to Nomad Foods.”

The move builds on Nomad Foods’ recent leadership developments, including the appointment of Jon Fernandez de Barrena as president Southern Europe, who joined the Company in April 2026, and Simon Ball as president UK & Ireland, appointed in March 2026.
