The British Paralympic Association has appointed The Purple Agency as its digital shop – following a four-way pitch – to lead the strategic planning and development of all of the organisation’s online channels and key digital assets.
The appointment, which runs for four years until Rio 2016, will kick off with a redesign of the Deloitte Parasport website, and include other tasks such as the management and maintenance of the ParalympicGB website and the development of microsites and social media channels.
British Paralympic Association marketing and communications director Jane Jones said: “The Purple Agency very clearly understood our brand and how that could be transmitted to our core audiences with very specific content.
“Their commitment went right across their business – and their ability to harness the latest technology and apply that to the needs of the BPA, its supporters and users, was also extremely good.”
Purple Agency digital director Mark Wynn added: “For some time we have been developing a strong presence in the sports marketing sector, and this win confirms our credentials in no uncertain terms.
“Everyone at the agency has been completely committed to winning this account and having done so is a really fantastic achievement and a landmark in the agency’s development as a major digital player.”
Part of Adare, the Purple Agency operates in a range of industry sectors including travel, publishing, technology, pharmaceuticals, retail and sports. Earlier this month, the agency unveiled an online revamp for travel group ABTA.
