BBD Perfect Storm has poached Saatchi & Saatchi London’s head of account management and former Iris chief Simon Humphris to take on the role of managing director.
Humphris had been overseeing the Toyota account and had been at Saatchi’s for only 7 months. Prior to that he had been at Iris Worldwide for more than 12 years in various roles including, most recently, global client director on adidas.
BBD Perfect Storm launched 18 months ago as the London offshoot of Poole agency Bright Blue Day and has been growing rapidly, picking up Britvic, BetVernons and Wiggle. In addition to his agency management responsibilities, Humphris will oversee these accounts.
BBD Perfect Storm chief executive Jason Foo said: “The past 18 months for the agency has been incredible. Simon joining us is part of our plans for how we will take the agency to the next level in terms of growth and development. Simon’s rare blend of experience, combined with a natural entrepreneurial drive, makes him a perfect fit for the kind of agency we building.”
Humphris added: “I’m well up for this. They’re a great bunch of guys intent on doing the right thing, brilliantly, and with a minimum of fuss. It feels great to be back in start-up mode.”
