Pets at Home has overhauled its ‘Very Important Pets’ (VIP) loyalty club by launching a mobile version of the scheme which not only offers personalised rewards and the chance to donate to charity but also includes an online shopping facility.
The app, which can be personalised to pets and their owners, is available on both iOS and android devices; the VIP club already has 4 million members. By signing up to the VIP club, customers receive a 10%-off welcome offer, they will also receive money saving vouchers sent directly to their phone, which are tailored to the type, size and life stage of their pet or pets.
Customers can register their pets’ details, including their date of birth, and personalise their app with images of their VIPs (Very Important Pets). It also allows customers to shop online and find stores, opening times and information on services,.
Every time a VIP club member scans their card when making a purchase they collect points, which are converted into VIP Lifelines for a pet charity of their choice. To date, more than £4.7m has been raised for more than 690 charities across the UK.
The scheme is run by Havas Helia – the agency behind Tesco Clubcard – and is hosted by GI Insight.
Pets At Home head of CRM and content Gavin Hawthorn said: “This app is not only a fantastic step for us but it’s a fantastic step for our customers and their pets. It has been built with them in mind and now, at the touch of a button, they can access a number of features and benefits to enhance their shopping experience, reward their pets and give to worthy causes.”
