Starcount hires OMD chief to head up commercial team

Jo WardleData science consultancy Starcount has recruited former OMD UK managing partner Joanna Wardle as its first chief commercial officer.
Reporting direct to Starcount chief executive Edwina Dunn, Wardle will be responsible for driving all aspects of client development and sales as well as the consultancy’s marketing offering.
The company’s clients include Marks & Spencer, Holland & Barrett, Barclaycard, Jaguar Land Rover, Investec and Lloyds Bank.
Wardle joins the business after a spell working as a consultant; prior to that she was managing partner at OMD where she was responsible for leading the agency’s new business, marketing and PR agendas.
She joined OMD from Capgemini’s Digital Transformation and Business Analytics practice, where as a management consultant she worked across a wide range of leading brands, notably in the retail, luxury and FMCG sectors.
Dunn said: “Joanna’s experience means she brings a great deal of insight into solving client’s business challenges across a range of disciplines. She will play a major role in the commercial development of our business. Joanna brings experience, energy and enthusiasm that will inspire both our team and our clients.”
