Marriott strikes deal with Man Utd for loyalty relaunch

man utd2Marriott International has signed a major sponsorship deal with Manchester United, which will give the 120 million members of its relaunched loyalty club access to exclusive VIP match-day experiences.
The hotel giant’s new-look Marriott Bonvoy programme – which combines the Marriott Rewards, The Ritz-Carlton Rewards and Starwood Preferred Guest schemes into single loyalty portfolio – also officially launches this week with a global marketing campaign.
Marriott Bonvoy “Moments” enables members to redeem points to purchase any of 8,000 lifestyle, entertainment, sport, and culinary experiences globally.
Exclusive Manchester United Moments that members can bid points for include the chance to become the club’s stadium announcer, “meet and greet” players and club legends as well as be kit manager for the day and experience pre- and post-match VIP hospitality.
Marriott International global marketing officer Karin Timpone said: “We are thrilled to offer compelling benefits to Marriott Bonvoy members, now expanded to include unique Manchester United experiences.
“This marketing partnership enables our members to access special VIP game experiences by using the points they’ve accumulated during hotel stays for unprecedented, exclusive experiences.”
