Stack boss Ben Stephens is starting to build his senior team at the agency by bringing on board his former data planning chief at VCCP me, Caroline Kimber, as data strategy director.
It was only ever going to be a matter of time before Stephens started bringing a new team on board as he looks to make his mark on the MSQ Partners-owned business, which rebranded from CMW in January 2014.
It is understood that he has been briefed to return the agency to its direct marketing routes following a change of direction under previous CEO Liz Wilson.
Kimber and Stephens worked together for nearly six years at VCCP Me; she joined three years after the launch of the agency, known as Stephens Francis Whitson at the time. She was head of data planning and the most senior data planner within the VCCP group.
Kimber spent the first 14 years of her career at CACI – latterly as vice-president – and then switched to Wegener in 2005 as group marketing director. She joined VCCP Me following a spell as a freelance consultant.
At Stack, she will work across the entire client base with a significant role on Peugeot, Citroen and DS business.
Stephens, who joined Stack in January, said: “Caroline is a true professional and so well regarded within the industry. She brings fantastic experience from across every sector. It’s great to be working with her again.”
Kimber added: “There’s a fantastic senior team at Stack and it’s a really good time to be joining them as they re-dedicate themselves to putting data insight at the heart of the agency.”
