Tesco shows how far it will go to source its Finest range

Tesco is aiming to spotlight the care it takes to source the highest quality foods from around the world to your local store in a new campaign for its Finest Range.

Devised by BBH London, “Quality Around the Corner” is designed to show that, at a time when many consumers are choosing to indulge in restaurant quality meals at home, the provenance of Tesco products means shoppers never have to compromise.

The activity will run across TV (as three 30″ films and one 60″), VOD, SVOD, OOH, DOOH, press, digital, radio, and social in the UK for three weeks from this week. The film was directed by Tim Bullock through production company Rogue Films.

Each spot opens with a man taking a quick trip to his local Tesco to pick up some supplies, only as he walks around the corner he ends up in a different setting.

First, we see him transported to the Shetland Islands to buy Tesco Finest Mesquite, Beech & Oak Wood Smoked Salmon; then he visits the caves of the West Country, complete with a mountain goat in the bagging area, to grab some Tesco Finest Cave Aged Goats Cheese; and, finally, he visits the Emilia Romagna region of Italy, to get his hands on Tesco Finest 20 Month Matured Parma Ham, from a family run business with nine generations of expertise.

Tesco UK marketing director Murray Bisschop said: “Quality matters to our customers, and this campaign brings to life the care, expertise and attention that goes into every product on our shelves.

“From the way we source our ingredients to the standards we hold across our Tesco Finest range, ‘Quality Around the Corner’ shows that exceptional food can be part of every shop at Tesco, whether customers are picking up a few essentials or creating something a little more special at home.”

BBH London & Dublin chief creative officer Felipe Serradourada Guimaraes added: “The best answer to a brief is to deliver an insight in the most crafted and charming way. ‘Quality Around the Corner’ is just that.”
