Todd and Eagle take Proximity jobs

Todd and Eagle take Proximity jobsProximity London has made two key appointments to its creative team by hiring a new head of design and a new creative partner.
Brian Eagle will be joining as head of design in mid-February, to manage a team of 20+ designers. Meanwhile, Andy Todd will be joining as creative partner with immediate effect.
Todd (pictured, right) will work closely with John Vinton, who joined the agency early last year from AIS London. He has nearly 30 years’ agency experience, ten of which as creative director. His CV reflects the changing face of DM agency-land over the past three decades, having started his career in 1987 at Option One (now part of TBWA), he then had spells at EHS (now Helia), Tomahawk (defunct), Craik Jones (now Proximity), WWAV (now Rapp), and DS-J (now Partners Andrews Aldridge).
During this time he has picked up 30 DMAs, nine Campaign Big/Direct Awards, as well as Caples, Echos and a Cannes Lion along the way.
Proximity London ECD John Treacy said: “Andy’s experience and commitment to producing great work will really help us push the increasingly high standards that we are setting at Proximity. He’s a great addition to the team.”
Meanwhile Eagle (pictured, left) started his career in Wellington, New Zealand, before moving to London in 2001 and spent nine years as creative partner of design agency Unreal. He then did a three-year stint in Sydney (at Moon & Host) before returning to London to join branding agency The Allotment, where he has been creative director for the past 18 months.
As if holding full-time jobs was not enough, Eagle has also managed to find time to set up two businesses; The Church (acquired by Designworks) in New Zealand and, more recently, Biggie Smalls in Australia. Globally he has worked with some major brands, including Coca-Cola, Lego, First Direct, Vodafone, Penguin, P&G and the BBC to name a few).
Treacy added: “We had been looking for a long time for the right person to fill the head of design role, and Brian is a great fit. He brings a wealth of global experience that spans a variety of brands and disciplines – from large corporates to ambitious start-ups. He’s a brilliant craftsman who’s going to have a huge impact on the business and we can’t wait to welcome him into the fold.”
Todd joins in the wake of Jo Jenkins’ departure to Karmarama at the end of the month. The head of design role has been vacant since March 2014.
