Toyota is understood to have kick-started a search for an agency to handle a digital marketing and customer relationship management brief.
It is understood that this is a new piece of business; the Japanese car giant already works with Prophecy Unlimited on dealership direct marketing and CRM, with The & Partnership handling advertising, content marketing and media.
Engine Group-owned data insight agency Fuel has also worked on the business.
According to reports, the process is still at an early stage, although it has been suggested that three agencies – AKQA, AnalogFolk and Digitas – are in the running, with pitches expected to take place some time in March.
Unlike Japanese rivals Honda and Nissan, Toyota has committed to maintain its UK manufacturing plant. The company officially began production of the all-new Corolla at its Burnaston factory in January.
Toyota has yet to respond to Decision Marketing’s request for comment.
