Wunderman Thompson lures Rapp client chief Nyman

katy nymanWunderman Thompson is continuing to strengthen its senior leadership team by recruiting a new global partner to lead its UK CRM accounts, including Shell, Samsung, Ikea and Lexus.

Katy Nyman takes up the role following a 20 year career which started at Finex in 2002 and spans many of the industry’s long-gone-but-not-forgotten agency brands, such as Craik Jones Watson Mitchell Voelkel, Partners Andrews Aldridge and Meteorite.

While at Meteorite, which eventually merged with McCann, she was seconded to the Guardian to lead its subscriptions marketing team, devising and launching new strategies for acquiring and retaining readers.

In 2015, Nyman joined Proximity London as business director, eventually becoming head of client leadership, a post she continued to hold at Rapp following Omnicom’s global merger of the two agencies in May last year.

Nyman said: “At Wunderman Thompson there is an opportunity to push outside the expected jurisdiction of CRM, to unleash it from its usual shackles and swim lanes so we’re producing inspiring creative communications that leverage the very best of data and technology.

“I am excited to bring what I know about CRM to a team of experts that truly know how to integrate all disciplines under one roof.”

Wunderman Thompson UK chief executive Pip Hulbert added: “Katy’s track record in leading and landing strong customer strategies across CRM, social and loyalty, across nearly every sector makes her the ideal person to drive the CRM expertise at Wunderman Thompson.”
