Homesense shops for new digital plan at PrettyGreen

Home furnishings retailer Homesense, which operates both standalone stores and larger superstores that include TK Maxx homeware departments, has appointed a new agency as part of plans to boost its online presence and digital strategy.

PrettyGreen has been appointed following a competitive pitch process and has been briefed to deliver influencer, social media and PR activity.

The retailer claims to offer a wide range of high-quality and branded homeware for less, all year long. It is part of US-owned TJX Europe, which, as well as TK Maxx and TJ Maxx, owns a number of other brands, including Marshalls, HomeGoods and Winners.

Homesense operates 75 stores in the UK, most of which are located in England. Unusually, however, it does not have an official Homesense online shopping site. Consumers can you can buy Homesense-branded or similar items online on the TK Maxx UK website, while third-party sellers on sites like eBay UK and Amazon UK sometimes list Homesense products.

Some Instagram accounts use “Homesense online shop” in their profiles, but these are independent, often resellers, and not the official company.

PrettyGreen group managing director Sarah Henderson said: “From day one we knew the values of Homesense and PrettyGreen were perfectly aligned, and this win demonstrates the strength of our creativity and integrated approach. It’s a privilege to work with the team and we’re excited to show how people never have to choose between quality, price and style at Homesense.”
