Charity marketers are being targeted with the launch of a new major data insight platform, covering over 1.75 million active UK postcodes, built on more than 40 million verified consumer records and refreshed monthly with 50,000+ live consumer touchpoints.
Cause360 has been built specifically for the UK charity sector, by data-driven acquisition agency PDV and fundraising strategy consultancy Think.
It is claimed that often charities hold records of who has supported or donated but little on who they actually are. Generic demographic files and modelled wealth indicators, built for broad commercial use rather than the charity sector, describe populations rather than giving potential.
Cause360 is designed to close that gap and is structured around five dimensions of charitable potential.
The Cause framework – context, affluence, understanding, situation and engagement – brings together local environment, financial capacity, values, life stage and giving behaviour into a single, postcode-level view.
It is designed to help charities find more supporters, understand existing ones more deeply, segment and profile with greater confidence, and plan campaigns and local partnerships more effectively.
PDV head of data consultancy Scott Logie said: “Charities have limited data on the people who give, whatever they can gather at the time. What they’ve been missing is a reliable way to understand these people in more detail and why they give. That’s the gap Cause360 closes.”
Think director of data Steve White added: “This partnership brings PDV’s data and acquisition expertise together with Think’s work in strategy and insight, with the people behind it each having more than 25 years’ experience in the charity and data and insight sectors.
“Cause360 is the first product to come out of our collaboration and it’s built specifically around how charities actually plan and target their fundraising.”
