AA chief Abraham nets top Tesco Bank marketing role

tracy abrahamTesco Bank has recruited AA group director of marketing Tracy Abraham to be its chief customer officer, with a brief to develop the financial firm’s customer offering across banking, insurance and money services.

Abraham has spent more than 25 years in senior marketing and communication roles, including spells at Experian, CPP Group and Monzo. Prior to that she worked for a number of media organisations, including Hearst, Jewish Chronicle, Channel 4 and Channel 5. Abraham is also a former head of UK marketing at Microsoft.

In her new role, she will join Tesco Bank’s executive committee and will report directly to chief executive Gerry Mallon, who said: “Tracy’s breadth of experience and customer focus will be invaluable as we develop our strategy of delivering products which closely align to the needs of Tesco customers.”

Tesco Bank was founded in 1997 and has more than 3,000 people working across three main centres in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Newcastle.

Its most recent major initiative was the launch of Tesco Clubcard Pay+, a new prepaid debit card, which the retailer claims will transform the way customers pay for their shopping.

Targeting 20 million Clubcard members customers can load up their card and then use it to pay, save and earn Clubcard points.

At the time, Mallon commented: “Tesco Bank has designed a smarter way for Tesco’s 20 million Clubcard members to shop. Tesco Clubcard Pay+ is a clear demonstration of Tesco Bank’s strategy to focus on products which closely align to the needs of Tesco shoppers.”
