Bentley hunts digital and CRM chiefs

Bentley hunts digital and CRM chiefs.jpg 2Bentley Motors’ new marketing chief, Christophe Georges, has wasted no time in beefing up his team after the firm revealed plans to recruit ten senior staff to boost its 40-strong department.
The Volkswagen-owned car marque, which is the vehicle of choice for pop stars and footballers alike, is looking to fill a number of roles, including senior jobs in digital, CRM, and retail marketing.
The move is part of a £40m investment to improve the company’s HQ and recruit over 300 staff. It also coincides with plans to launch its first “Chelsea Tractor” or SUV, the Bentayga.
Georges joined from the firm’s US division earlier this month, as revealed by DecisionMarketing, and has more than 30 years’ experience in the automotive industry. He joined Bentley from Jaguar Land Rover, where he held the position of managing director of the company’s Australian division. Prior to that he worked at Porsche.
The UK marketing account is handled by Keko, with creative headed up by Piggy Lines, the former ECD at Carlson Marketing Group (now Aimia) and MRM (now MRM Meteorite).
A Bentley spokesman is quoted as saying: “We want to ensure we continue to increase overall sales and that we have the right marketing infrastructure in place to ensure the SUV is a big success.”
Earlier this week, Bentley’s arch-rival Rolls-Royce also revealed plans to add a SUV to its line-up. The BMW-owned marque said it will build “a car that offers the luxury of a Rolls-Royce in a vehicle that can cross any terrain”, which will be “a high-bodied car with an all-new aluminium architecture”. Partners Andrews Aldridge handles the brand’s marketing account.
