Blippar woos agencies with augmented reality trial

Shell_blipp_02Blippar is offering agencies the chance to trial its range of augmented reality creation tools, and get in on the projected $120bn (£82bn) AR market.
The Blippar Beta Programme contains tools designed specifically for creative, direct marketing and digital agencies, and includes a new version of Blippar’s Blippbuilder tool, which enables the creation of AR content with no coding skills required, and the Blippar API suite, a tool for advanced programmers.
This, the company insists, will enable agencies to develop creative solutions, which stretch from brand storytelling to shopper marketing. The tools present a simple way for agencies to start creating AR, and provide a fast learning curve with drag and drop or JavaScript options.
Blippar co-founder and chief executive Ambarish Mitra said: “AR is coming to age. With the launch of the Beta Programme, Blippar aims to democratise AR by putting it into the hands of agencies, and helping them drive growth through AR – a market forecast to be worth $120bn by 2020.
“It’s a unique opportunity for agencies to be at the forefront of innovation and drive this new behaviour.”
