Macmillan started his agency career at Wunderman (now VML) in 2001, before joining Havas in 2004 at what was then EHS 4D Group as a client partner.
Between 2008 and 2009 he worked as a consultant for Cineworld Cinemas, O2 and Havas Digital and then had a spell at brand, retail and digital consultancy Start Design Group before returning to Havas as managing partner of the then rebranded Havas Helia CX.
Since then the agency has rebranded again to Havas CX Helia and Macmillan has moved up the ranks, serving as client services director, managing director, co-president and now CEO.
On LinkedIn, he wrote: “I’m pleased to finally be able to tell you that after an incredible 13 years with Havas, the time is right for me to step down and move on. Having served six years as MD and the last three as CEO, helping to shape and lead this business has been an absolute privilege.
“However, after the recent sudden loss of my Dad, and a sustained period at the helm, I’m now looking forward to taking a proper step back and taking some much-needed time out for myself.
“I take immense pride in the fantastic teams, colleagues, and clients I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside over the years. Your dedication, loyalty, and humour have made my time here unforgettable.
“Thank you all past and present. I leave wishing the agency and everyone across the wider network the very best for the future. An exciting new chapter begins.”
