Ex-Publicis boss Jason Bailis takes COO role at Oliver

Jason BailisIn-house specialist agency Oliver is continuing to bolster its senior leadership team with the appointment of Publicis Group “lifer” Jason Bailis as UK group chief operating officer.
Reporting directly to UK CEO Sharon Whale, Bailis’ remit is to ensure “operational rigour” throughout the business as it beds down into You & Mr Jones’ roster, overseeing Oliver’s strategy, internally and externally, initially focusing on the agency’s UK clients.
Prior to Oliver, Bailis spent a year as global chief operating officer at independent consultant Ebiquity. Before that, he spent a decade in senior leadership roles at Publicis, including senior vice-president of business operations for Razorfish Global and chief operating officer of Razorfish International.
He has also worked in product marketing and technical management for Intel, Harris Corporation and defence contractor Honeywell.
Bailis’ appointment follows the recruitment of global chief creative officer Rod Sobral and the CEO of global clients Richard Stainer.
Whale said: “Oliver and our clients are going from strength to strength, and growth has been supercharged since joining You & Mr Jones. Jason’s experience is unparalleled and will ensure our growth continues in a fruitful, productive fashion. Scaling our model at speed, under Jason’s watchful eye, will ensure our ‘better, faster, cheaper’ ethos benefits clients on a global scale and future-proofs our business.”
Bailis added: “As client needs chime with real-time demands, Oliver continues to evolve. I’m looking forward to being part of this next chapter.”
