Gousto hires digital shop to rustle up social media push

AI-driven UK-based recipe box company Gousto is planning to ramp up its digital strategy with the appointment of Simply Social as its lead social agency across the UK and Ireland, following a competitive pitch process.

The partnership will see Simply Social lead Gousto’s full-funnel social strategy, creative, content production and community management.

Working as an extension of the Gousto team, the agency will deliver an integrated social approach that combines strategic thinking, culturally relevant creativity and performance-led execution to build brand awareness, strengthen customer engagement and drive acquisition.

Launched in June 2012 by co-founders Timo Boldt and James Carter, the founders appeared on BBC’s Dragons’ Den in a year later, seeking investment shortly after launch. However they left without a deal.

Its most recent results revealed that 2025 revenue jumped 10% from £312m to £342m.

The company’s advertising account is handled by Mother, while the7stars runs the media business.
