Based on the original “Probably the best…” slogan, hatched back in 1973 by agency KMP, “If Carlsberg Did…” first launched in 2004 by Saatchi & Saatchi; it was revived in 2015 by the agency 72andSunny Amsterdam.
Now, Fold7 has given the platform a fresh, modern update, in which it transitions from the fantasy scenarios of the past, such as holiday resorts, the ultimate apartment, and 5 a side team of dreams to new interpretations.
Featuring three executions, the campaign identifies modern, everyday consumer barriers and offers uniquely Carlsberg solutions designed to prove that, when it comes to solving classic British summer frustrations, “If Carlsberg did… it’d probably be the best for everyone”.
First up is “If Carlsberg Did Football Ads” which features “Goal Posters”, turning billboards into physical goals to revive the joy of a spontaneous kickabout. This activation is aimed at bringing brought back the classic jumpers for goalposts energy, making starting a game with mates just as effortless as turning on the TV.
Building on the momentum of this football launch, the wider campaign now expands across the rest of the British summer, tackling a host of other seasonal frustrations with the same solution-oriented approach.
“If Carlsberg Did Summer… we’d deliver ice cold pints where they’re needed most” sees the introduction of a mobile bar inspired by the nostalgic classic ice cream van, which serves up perfectly chilled pints of Carlsberg Danish Pilsner in a park.
And, finally, “If Carlsberg Did Summer…seagulls wouldn’t get a look in” in which seaside pub gardens are increasingly plagued by aggressive, feathered menaces. Carlsberg’s light-hearted play on this deploys real, professionally trained hawks as “Seagull Security” in coastal pubs and hotspots near beaches.
The campaign will also extend prominently to the retail floor across UK grocery, convenience, and wholesale channels throughout July and August.
In-store displays and activations feature the theme “If Carlsberg did summer, we’d keep it chilled” to instantly connect with advertising activity, with free-standing display units in retail aisles, alongside consumer promotions for branded merchandise, including green bucket hats emblazoned with the white Carlsberg clover logo, allowing beer lovers to ‘keep it chilled’ anywhere.
Carlsberg Britvic chief marketing officer Munnawar Chishty said: “Bringing back ‘If Carlsberg Did…’ after ten years is a massive moment for us. It is one of the most iconic, recognisable, and beloved advertising taglines in British history.
“In 2026, we’re giving this platform a modern glow-up to solve some of the UK’s most common summer pain points. Whether it’s reclaiming the peace of a seaside beer garden from seagulls or finding a perfectly chilled pint in the middle of a heatwave, we are stepping in to help Brits make the absolute most of their summer.”
Designed to drive deep trade and consumer engagement, the summer-long campaign runs from this week to the end of August. It integrates premium video on demand, high-impact online video, paid social, experiential, creator partnerships, and an exclusive LadBible Group partnership, all supported by a comprehensive in-store toolkit.
While currently celebrating the British summer, the relaunch marks a more significant, long-term strategic move with “If Carlsberg Did…” becoming the long-term global creative for the brand. This comes in the brand showing up consistently across diverse international markets with localised with and cultural relevance.
