OgilvyOne shines at Echo Awards

Ogivlyone shines at Echo awardsThe US DMA Echo Awards may have lost their allure for many UK agencies but OgilvyOne London continues to fly the flag for the Brits, scooping a gold and a bronze at this week’s event.
At one time, UK shops would regularly enter the awards but in recent times OgilvyOne appears to be the only one to have not fallen out of love with the Echos; it also went one better than last year when it picked up a silver and bronze.
OgilvyOne Worldwide dominated the event, scooping 15 awards in total, including six gold, more than twice as many as any other agency.
And in what will no doubt be another chance to cock a snook at its former client, British Airways, the agency walked off with gold in the travel and hospitality/transportation category for its Visit Soon campaign (pictured).
Run in association with Tourism Australia, the TV ad was created to inspire reunions between the thousands of Brits living in Australia and their family and friends back in the UK.
OgilvyOne London also picked up a bronze for its work around Wimbledon tennis fortnight for long-standing client IBM, entitled “Dispatches from the Wimbledon Championships.”
OgilvyOne Worldwide chairman and chief executive Brian Fetherstonhaugh said: “Winning 15 awards in the world’s oldest and most prestigious response-based marketing awards show is a fantastic accomplishment and one we are proud to share with our clients. It’s a testament to our commitment to data-driven creativity.”
