The REaD Group has poached its second senior executive from Communisis Data Intelligence in five months, by luring Clive Rumsey to the role of business development director.
The appointment follows the hiring of his former boss – Jon Cano-Lopez – as chief executive of the REaD Group-owned Data Agency in May.
Rumsey first worked for Cano-Lopez at Ai Data Intelligence back in 2006, joining from DLG. Ai was sold to Communisis in December 2008, in a £12.6m deal. Rumsey has also worked at EHS Brann Discovery, Cognisance and Brainbox.
The move comes just weeks after the Data Agency signed an exclusive deal to market Acxiom’s data products suite; the company now claims to own the largest consumer data bank in the UK.
Rumsey’s experience covers a wide range of data industry specialities, from data analytics and processing to marketing database technologies and single customer view (SCV) solutions.
In his most recent role at Communisis, it is claimed he was the best performing sales employee in the company’s history, winning clients that made up 72% of business revenue. Rumsey has worked across many sectors and industries and with clients including RBS Group, Tesco Bank and Ageas UK.
REaD Group chairman Mark Roy said: “Attracting the very best people has always been at the heart of our success and Clive’s appointment only serves to enhance our offering.
“As our transformative journey continues Clive’s experience and knowledge will allow us to create strategies for clients that take their aspirations to a whole new level. Our senior management team now represents one of the brightest and smartest think-tanks around.”
