Mike Green joins The REaD Group

The REaD Group and Data Agency chairman Mark Roy has thumbed his contacts book once more to appoint EuroDirect founder and former Callcredit chief Mike Green to spearhead new business development.
As chief market strategist, Green will advise the board on potential opportunities to boost the company’s portfolio, led by the Data Agency, including possible expansion into new areas.
The move follows the appointment of former Acxiom and Communisis chief Jon Can-Lopez, who joined the Data Agency as chief executive last month.
Green set up his first business aged just 15, buying and reprocessing ICI’s synthetic waste from the chemical giant’s Harrogate division. But it was in 1992 that he first entered the data industry by setting up EuroDirect, after spotting the potential for geodemographic analysis of information. Two years later, John Dobson was appointed managing director.
The duo went on to sell the majority shareholding in EuroDirect to Skipton Building Society in 1998 and oversaw the development of CallCredit Information Group. Green remained as chief executive, in charge of the company’s development, until 2009, when he became non-executive chairman.
