RSA digital chief exits after 8 wks

RSA digital chief exits after 8 wksPlans by insurance giant RSA – which also owns the More Th>n brand – to create a global digital strategy have been thrown into turmoil following the resignation of its first chief digital officer after just two months in the role.
Ian Hood’s remit was to establish a digital strategy within the international insurance group’s operations, although his short time in the job would appear to have put him off for life as he has now left to pursue his career in another industry.
Hood joined the company in 2009 as head of e-business at More Th>n, having had spells in the digital departments of both Direct Line and Swiftcover. It is not known which company he is joining.
An RSA spokewoman told Insurance Age: “After 20 years of working in insurance, Ian has decided that the time is right to pursue opportunities outside of the sector and has left RSA to take up a fantastic new role in another industry.
“We would like to thank Ian for the significant contribution he has made to the business over the past six years and wish him well for the future,” she added.
In the wake of Hood’s resignation, RSA chief information officer Darren Price has taken on the responsibilities of the CDO role.
