Direct and digital agency WPNC has appointed digital strategy consultant Phil Dearson to the newly created role of digital director.
Dearson brings a wealth of experience and transformational skills to help clients achieve their objectives. He is an acknowledged digital expert, specialising in strategy, CX/XD and innovation.
He has held many senior roles within agencies, including head of digital, head of strategy and CX, head of data and analytics and head of innovation, at companies including Tribal Worldwide, The Marketing Store, Cello and Engine Group.
He has been a consultant for the past eight years, and has advised leading charities on digital transformation.
Dearson will assume overall responsibility for WPNC’s digital activities, including development (experience and engineering) and marketing. WPNC creates digital experiences for a variety of clients such as NSPCC, BHF and SSAFA.
WPNC managing director John Eversley said: “We are delighted to welcome Phil to the team. He brings outstanding experience across the agency’s digital activities. Digital marketing, and digital products and experiences, now account for a very substantial and fast-growing part of our business. Phil will work with our existing clients as well as developing our digital offering.”
Dearson commented: “I’m thrilled to be joining WPNC. The agency has an outstanding reputation for delivering tangible social impact. I’m excited to work with the digital team to help charities, not-for profits and enterprises to make positive change happen.”
Dearson will initially work alongside WPNC Digital and goDonate managing director Vicky Reeves. With the increasing success of the goDonate SaaS product – now one of the leading online donation products in the UK for medium and large charities – Reeves will begin to spend more time on goDonate.
Reeves said: “Phil is joining the team at the perfect time. goDonate has become a major success in fundraising and while I’ll be concentrating on goDonate, Phil is the perfect person to make sure that WPNC’s digital services will continue to deliver for our clients and give them outstanding results.”
