Commercial media and entertainment giants ITV and Global have joined forces to launch a new national weekly prize draw to rival both the National Lottery and the People’s Postcode Lottery, offering the chance to win a “life-changing” £1m jackpot every week for a £1 entry.
Launching this week, and supported by a significant media investment across the UK, players of The Birthday Draw create their entry using a date that is meaningful to them, such as their birthday, along with an initial, and a colour from a 12-colour rainbow, forming a ticket that is designed to be special to the entrant.
The first draw closes on Sunday January 25, with the first draw result announced on Thursday January 29. Draws will then be held weekly, and winners will be announced online.
Players can enter The Birthday Draw online at www.thebirthdaydraw.com or by post, with the option to buy one-off entries or take out a subscription for automatic entry, which gives extra perks such as exclusive monthly draws, a chance for entrants to win £100 on their actual birthday, and a weekly discount when players take 12 entries or more. A postal entry route is available too.
ITV director of interactive Peter Mossman said: “This launch is an exciting development for ITV, which builds on our long-held position as a trusted operator of interactive entertainment and uses the power of advertising across TV, radio and outdoor to bring it to life.
“The draw offers a truly personal way for audiences to play with elements that mean something special to them, and with online entries from £1, we really hope that this becomes one of the UK’s favourite draws. We have a history of creating winners at ITV, and we are really excited about being able to offer this fresh new proposition in 2026.”
Global chief digital product officer James Hickman added: “We are thrilled to be launching The Birthday Draw. It’s a brilliantly simple mechanic, giving everyone who enters a genuine connection to the entry they choose, and the chance to dream big for just £1. Partnering with ITV brings two trusted brands together to create a new shared national moment. We can’t wait to see the stories The Birthday Draw creates, and the lives it changes.”
