Rapp Worldwide global chief executive Marco Scognamiglio has appointed a new lieutenant by promoting “agency lifer” and current president of the San Francisco office Anne Marie Neal to the role of global chief marketing officer.
Having started her career at Wunderman in New York in 1993, Neal went on to have spells at GHS Global, Blattner Brunner and as an independent consultant. She joined Rapp’s Los Angeles office as vice president group account director in 2005.
Since then, Neal has moved up the ranks, holding the posts of senior vice-president of client services and managing director before being promoted to president of the San Francisco office in January 2017.
In her new role, Neal will focus on advancing Rapp’s offering while enhancing network connectivity, partner collaboration and amplifying the agency’s proposition to drive growth opportunities with current and new clients.
Scognamiglio said: “Anne Marie is a leader who brings clarity to our clients about the changing landscape of our industry and their role in it. She listens intently, capitalises on Rapp’s heritage in data to glean insights and then collaborates to deliver results.
“In this role, she will make Rapp’s customer-centric value proposition sharper than ever in service to our clients and their most valuable asset – their customers. It’s a position she’s passionate about and well-suited for.”
Neal added: “The current breadth and pace of industry change requires agencies who can guide and lead a transformational discussion with their brand partners. It’s no longer sufficient to be ‘data-driven’ – every agency is claiming that.
“Today’s modern marketers need data-native thinkers who can see and apply the right data to predict and improve performance across the entire customer experience in extremely creative ways.”
