Škoda is aiming to get into the spirit of Halloween by inviting the public to get creative and celebrate the spooky season with a nationwide competition – the “Šcary Škoda Challenge”.
Devised by Havas Helia, the challenge celebrates imagination, craft and the spacious interiors of Škoda vehicles, and encourages consumers to design the ultimate ‘Šcary Škoda’ (a spooky boot beast built right into the back of their car) using everyday materials, before sharing their creations online for a chance to win prizes.
To kick off the challenge, Škoda has partnered with papercraft artist Hattie Newman, to create a step-by-step video on how to participate, which will sit across Skoda’s online channels and feature in the October edition of the Škoda Driven newsletter.
Škoda retailers are also getting involved, with forecourt displays of their own Šcary Škodas planned up and down the UK. Each retailer will also receive a how-to kit along with digital and print assets to drive local engagement and participation.
Škoda UK head of marketing Kirsten Stagg said: “This is the latest engaging customer led activation we’ve created alongside Havas Helia. It highlights just how spacious our boots can be… with lots of room for family fun and Hallowe’en magic.”
Havas Helia creative director Jono Owens added: “The Šcary Škoda challenge is not only celebrating the spooky season, but the fun that arts and crafts can bring to the family – encouraging us all to playfully reuse things lying around the house to build our very own boot beast.”
