Accenture Song has beefed up its digital transformation expertise with the appointment of a senior Google executive as a new managing director and head of “go-to-market” for the UK, Ireland and Africa (UKIA).
Kevin Mathers has been briefed to tap into his expertise in technology and innovation to drive creative reinvention, enhance client relevance, and accelerate business growth.
He will work closely with clients to understand their challenges, promote tailored solutions, and guide them through transformational initiatives. Additionally, Mathers will foster collaboration across teams to deliver the optimum blend of creative, tech and data solutions to elevate client relevance and drive growth.
Mathers has spent the past 18 years at Google, leading a number of commercial teams, including Google UK’s Search advertising business and serving as its first YouTube UK managing director.
He was instrumental in setting up Google UK’s new products and solutions team, where he oversaw the introduction and growth of all its emergent advertising products.
Prior to Google Mathers held role at Deloitte, T-Mobile, and as an officer in the British Army. It is claimed this experience positions him to speak to Accenture Song’s broad client base about their combined creative and technology-driven approach to success.
The appointment is the latest in a series of hires made by Sohel Aziz, who stepped into his role as Accenture Song’s regional managing director and lead for UKIA a year ago.
In this time, Aziz has also worked closely with Dame Annette King, who leads Accenture Song’s global marketing practice, in building a strong leadership team and overseeing the acquisition of TMW and Nelson Bostock parent the Unlimited Group, in April of this year.
Aziz said “Kevin’s track record of driving business growth through innovative strategies makes him an outstanding addition to our leadership team.
“Over the past year, we’ve been focused on building a team that can redefine what’s possible for our clients by combining creativity, technology, and deep industry knowledge.
“Kevin’s extensive experience at the forefront of digital transformation and his passion for customer-driven growth make him the perfect fit for Accenture Song.”
Mathers added: “I’ve seen first-hand how the team blends technology, creativity, and deep industry expertise to reinvent clients’ marketing operations, delivering impactful results at speed and scale.
“Accenture Song stands out because of its ability to drive real reinvention. I’m excited to work alongside Sohel and his brilliant team to push the boundaries of what’s possible for our clients, setting new benchmarks for the industry.”
