Havas London hands chief exec role to Xavier Rees

XavierReesAdam & Eve DDB group managing director Xavier Rees has been poached by Havas London to take up the role of chief executive.
His appointment marks a return to Havas, when he worked at AIS London btween 2002 and 2005, ultimately as a board director.
Rees, who started his career client-side as a product manager at Boots, worked at a number of agencies, including Grey, BBH and Wunderman, and AIS before join RMG Connect (now JWT) as business director.
He then switched to Claydon Heeley, which merged with Targetbase in 2008. Rees then joined fellow Omnicom DAS agency DDB in September 2010. The agency merged with Adam & Eve two years later.
Rees will report to Chris Hirst, who became the Europe chief executive in September last year.
Hirst said: “Xav is a true powerhouse who can energise and propel an agency forward. As well as being a brilliant practitioner, he will be transformational for our culture.”
