Havas Media Group UK has recruited a new head of mobile from Deep Focus London (formerly Jam) to spearhead its Mobext operation.
Boasting over 15 years’ experience, James Shepherd will be responsible for driving the development and delivery of mobile solutions across Havas Media Group’s client portfolio, which includes O2, Pernod Ricard, Nationwide, BBC and Ubisoft.
While at Deep Focus, he was responsible for leading the agency’s global strategy across brands including Santander, and Sky.
Shepherd has also worked at OgilvyOne and M&C Saatchi Mobile where he developed mobile strategy, campaigns and products for clients including British Airways, American Express, Public Health England, BMW, Disney, Unilever and Coca-Cola.
He will report into Havas Media Group UK investment and digital managing director Julia Jordan, well as the global head of Mobext, Marco Rigon. Shepherd will be tasked with building long-term, tactical and strategic growth, ensuring mobile capability runs seamlessly throughout Havas Media Group UK.
Shepherd will work closely with the group’s specialist teams in supporting Havas Media, Arena Media and Forward Media. His arrival will connect the mobile offering across the full breadth of Havas Media and Creative Groups in the UK ahead of the opening of Havas Village in 2017.
