MRM Meteorite has handed managing partner Matt Conner the role of managing director of the agency, succeeding Olly Foot, who was promoted to joint chief executive alongside Chris Whitson last year.
MRM Meteorite was formed in 2011 from the merger of McCann Relationship Marketing and Meteorite, the agency which was founded in 1999 by Hugh Bishop and Debbie Smith.
The move is the latest in a number of top-level changes at the agency since a succession plan was put in place for Bishop and Smith. It is now run as a triumvirate between Foot, who is also chief commercial officer, Whitson (also chief strategy officer), and Nicky Bullard, chairman and chief creative officer.
Conner started his career at WWAV Rapp Collins (now Rapp) on an undergraduated placement in 1996, eventually becoming a senior account manager. He then joined Rapier in April 2003, but switched to Stephens Francis Whitson in April 2006, to head up the agency’s More Th>n account.
He joined OgilvyOne in 2012, following SFW’s rebrand to VCCP Me which ultimately led to the departures of the three founders Neil Francis, Ben Stephens and Chris Whitson.
Having worked at Meteorite since 2014, Conner is credited with playing a key role in winning new business such as easyJet, Pernod Ricard and TSB.
