
The agency landed the brief following a competitive pitch and will be embarking on a major new fundraising drive to help the charity win a new base of regular supporters and highlight its work.
The initial project will be an integrated Christmas campaign, followed by other initiatives over the next few years.
The Royal Marsden Hospital was the first hospital in the world dedicated to the study and treatment of cancer and founded as the Free Cancer Hospital in 1851 by William Marsden. It is now a specialist NHS oncology hospital based at two sites in Brompton, in Kensington and Chelsea, and Belmont in Sutton, managed by The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust.
The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity supports the hospital’s work through its fundraising activities and has used a number of agencies over the past decade, including Joint.
Launched in 2015 by former Grey Healthcare strategy chief Matt Hunt and pharmaceutical comms specialist Stephen Buckley, 11 London works across health and humanity, with clients spanning pharma organisations and charities.
Its work ranges from consultancy to creative, for charities including The UK Sepsis Trust, Breast Cancer Now, and Christian Aid to pharmaceutical firms Ipsen, Amicus, and Albireo. It became the first UK healthcare agency to be B Corp certified in 2022.
