OMD promotes insider after $2.5bn Omni new biz blitz

Omnicom Media Group agency OMD has promoted Ellen Griffin to the new role of president and global chief operating officer after being instrumental in designing custom solutions powered by  the group’s global marketing intelligence platform Omni, that contributed to more than $2.5bn in net new business wins.

Now Griffin, who was most recently OMD’s global chief client solutions officer, will drive the development and adoption of what the OMD calls “customised, future-ready operating models” across the agency’s global client base.

She will draw on the breadth of capabilities across OMG and the Omnicom network to help brands navigate business transformation and unlock marketing-led growth.

She rejoined OMD in 2018 as global innovation director from PHD Worldwide, where she had held the same role. Griffin had previously worked at OMD between 2009 and 2012 as a strategist, having started her career at Garmin International as an intern.

In her most recent position, she led the evolution of OMD’s model, talent, and capabilities that, though Omni, have led to a raft of new business wins.

Her appointment is effective immediately, reporting directly OMD Worldwide CEO George Manas.
