Sagacity promotes Standing as Scott Logie steps down

scott and dean 2Data solutions consultancy Sagacity has promoted Dean Standing to the role of chief revenue officer, succeeding Scott Logie, who has stepped down after nearly ten years, joining Sagacity in October 2022 when the business acquired REaD Group.

Logie, a highly respected data strategist who is a former DMA chairman, started his career client-side at BAE Systems in 1989, before joining CACI and then Marketing Databasics. By 1996, he had returned to his native Scotland to become head of RDA at Bank of Scotland, staying five years.

In 2001, Logie quit to join Occam and set up its strategic analysis offering. He took over as managing director in 2003 and led the team through a successful management buyout in a year later, he then moved to the role of strategy director.

When St Ives made Occam its first purchase in the marketing services sector in 2010, Logie remained at the company for two years, before accepting the strategic marketing director role. He then had a spell at the Mothership Group before joining REaD Group in 2014.

He is now leaving Sagacity to take a short break and will then explore new challenges and opportunities.

On LinkedIn, Logie wrote: “After 35 years of (mostly) gainful employment and nearly 10 years at REaD Group then Sagacity, I have temporarily hung up my boots.

“Thank you to everyone who made the crappy days better, and the good days fun, over the last few (many!) years. You all know who you are.

“Not the end but the start of a new adventure and I can’t wait. But first … lunch!”

Standing, also a former director of REaD Group, will now take on Logie’s role and will be responsible for all income areas including new business, existing business, marketing and third-party relationships.

Having started his career in PR and marketing, Standing spent seven years at Meta-Morphix, ultimately as sales director and joined REaD Group as solutions director in 2012. He was promoted to client services director in 2017.

Since the Sagacity acquisition, Standing has worked in several teams across the business, most recently as chief customer officer.

In a statement, the company said: “Our clients will continue to receive the same high-quality service and delivery from the Sagacity team, with high level relationships benefiting from one central commercial leader who has wider oversight across the channel mix, to drive the best outcomes for clients, partners, and agencies alike.”
