Medical, life and accident insurance company Cigna has handed Rapp its creative, media and data accounts in the UK, following a three-way pitch.
Headquartered in Connecticut, US, the majority Cigna’s business is run through employers and other third party groups. However, it is now wanting to develop more direct-to-consumer protection products, in line with a new global strategy.
Rapp has been briefed to develop the company’s CRM programme across its range of products and services in the UK, where it already operates a number of white-label services.
Cigna Insurance Services chief marketing officer Mathew Shepherd said: “Rapp provides us with a unique combination of integrated media, data, technology and creative services and the strong experience in building direct services that Cigna needed.”
Rapp chief client officer Sam Nolan added: “Rapp has a history of building and growing direct businesses. The Cigna opportunity perfectly aligned with what we do best by leveraging our full suite of integrated capabilities.”
The win is the Omnicom agency’s second insurance account gain in as many weeks; last week it picked up the Hastings Direct business to handle both its creative and media accounts following two separate reviews.
